Roaring into 2024 with the Brisbane Lions’ Podcast

Audeara #ChangingMindsets for Hearing Health Reading Roaring into 2024 with the Brisbane Lions’ Podcast 3 minutes Next Connecting Audiences Worldwide

Since 2022, Audeara has proudly been the Brisbane Lions’ official Healthy Hearing Partner for both the AFL and AFLW Brisbane Lions teams.

As an official sponsor for both the ‘Between the Lions' and ‘Kick Ons’ podcasts, Audeara has had the opportunity to create sound waves with some of Queensland's favourite athletes - including Cathy Svarc, former Lion Emily Bates, Belle Dawes, Cam Rayner and Hugh McCluggage.

Last year’s season saw the Lions reach new heights, with the AFL side drawing a near victory at the Grand Final and the AFLW team taking home the premiership win - from the grand display of power shown in 2023, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Lions this season.

As we kick off again in 2024, the Kick Ons podcast has introduced its new hosts Cal Ah Chee and Anthony Corrie (Nuxy) for the season ahead.

Cal Ah Chee is an idol for many in Aussie Rules Football, emerging as a top talent recruit from Western Australia. A proud Indigenous Australian of Nyoongar, Nyikina, and Yawuru descent, Ah Chee's journey in the AFL began when he was drafted by the Gold Coast Football Club in 2015.

With an unrivalled dedication to the game, Ah Chee’s career has seen him play in 118 games, 73 of those in Lions colours. His continued showcase of exceptional skills and versatility on the field continues to leave a lasting legacy on the team. Beyond the field, Cal is a role model for Indigenous youth aspiring to pursue their dreams in sport. We can’t wait to hear more from Cal in this season of Kick Ons!

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Brisbane Lions to encourage our communities to look after their hearing health.”
- James Fielding, Audeara CEO

The second host, Anthony Corrie, a proud Warlpiri and Badu Island man from Darwin is a beloved figure among Lions fans - having graced the field for Brisbane in 53 games from 2004 to 2008. While his on-field contributions are memorable, it’s his impactful work off the field that truly defines his legacy within the club.

Corrie became the Lions’ Indigenous Player Welfare Manager in 2022 and has been instrumental in driving various initiatives including the Sir Doug Nicholls Round. His dedication to supporting indigenous players while fostering a sense of community within the club has left a lasting mark, and we can’t wait to hear his thoughts during the 2024 season.

The fun doesn’t have to stop once the game is over!
